Reorganisation of the Office

A new organisational decision has been published today, and is available to read here.

Apart from minor adjustments to update the ongoing activities of each department, the reorganisation aims to adjust the Office to the new challenges contained within the Legislative Reform and the SP 2020, in particular, the Office’s enhanced international cooperation activities, and the objective of digital transformation.

International cooperation is now part of the Office’s legislative framework. Line of Action 4 of the Strategic Plan, as mandated by Articles 124 (1)(b) and 128 (4)(e) EUTMR, underpins the Office’s strategy for cooperation beyond the EU’s borders, in line with the interests of users.

The design of the IT department has evolved in the last years from a pure infrastructure department to a department close to business needs as the organisation has matured. However, now more than ever, we have to ensure that breakthrough innovation in the digital area can be used in an agile manner within the Office, to boost our performance and to help build our staff capabilities further. The Digital Transformation Department (DTD) will drive this endeavour to face upcoming challenges.

As a consequence four departments are directly affected by the provisions of the new organisational decision: OD; CSD; ICLAD; and the newly named DTD.

There will also be some staffing moves as a result of the organisational decision. This is done to ensure that peoples’ profiles are closely aligned with the objectives of the changes, and to allow the new organisational structure to fit the new approach.

The new organisational charts are available here.
