EUIPO-European Commission meeting

The Executive Director of the EUIPO, Mr Christian Archambeau, met Ms Kerstin Jorna, Director-General of the European Commission’s Directorate-General on Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW), via videoconference, on 23 June 2021.

The exchange followed a previous meeting between Mr Archambeau and Ms Jorna on 15 March, and it is part of the regular exchanges on the implementation of the European Commission’s IP Action Plan and the EUIPO’s Strategic Plan 2025. Participants focused on the policy for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) for 2021 and beyond, and touched upon the International IP SME Helpdesks.

Following the success of the Ideas Powered for Business SME Fund in 2021, the EUIPO is now collaborating with the European Commission on a new multiannual support programme for SMEs that will go into effect in 2022.
