Intellectual property rights play a vital role in society.
They help creators, inventors and developers to drive our businesses, societies and economies. They support enterprises, create jobs and give us a guarantee of quality and safety when we buy goods and services.
Unfortunately, many people still believe that IP rights have little to do with their day-to-day lives. The Observatory stakeholders are therefore doing a huge amount of awareness raising to help people understand the value of IP in today's society.
Awareness campaign repository
We have created a unique repository, which gathers much of this awareness material together.
Here you can view and draw on a range of awareness-raising material and guidelines produced by Observatory stakeholders and other IP partners over the years.
If you would like to make use of any of the materials, please contact us.

During video episodes of the talent show, that you can watch on YouTube and Facebook, the contestants, together with the shows’ audience, were educated on the Copyright and Related Rights Act in Croatia, the importance of IP rights, how fostering those rights impacts the creation process of any art work and how those rights impact the livelihood of every artist. The jury, consisting of prominent and influential rap stars from Croatia and its neighbours, were mentors to the contestants, giving them advice on how to create great songs and how to become a new rap or hip-hop star. They emphasised the importance of originality in producing music, but also showed what has to be done and how to get an author’s permission if part of their original work was needed. Artists shared stories from their own creative path and how IP rights played an important role in their music career....Less |
