First post-COVID-19 presential judges’ seminar on trade marks

Following the online judges’ seminars which took place in 2020 and 2021, the next judges’ seminar on new trade mark features is taking place in Alicante on 12 and 13 October 2021. Attendees include 30 top judges and prosecutors from 15 countries, all experts in IP matters, both civil and criminal. Many of them have focused on fighting IP crime for many years, thus laying the groundwork for the new EMPACT priority.

The sanitary constraints of the COVID-19 pandemic have been taken into full consideration with a programme that has been adapted to the situation. As ever, the debates and discussions take place in a confidential environment.

The judges’ seminar is a regular feature of the EUIPO calendar. It brings together specialist IP judges and prosecutors from across the EU, offering a platform for dynamic debate and information exchange in a confidential environment, as well as providing the latest updates on case law and practice.
