On 1 October the EUIPO held an IP Enforcement Portal Steering Group - Police meeting with several EU enforcement authority police officers and representatives from Europol.

As well as discuss the new developments and functions of the Portal with the IP Enforcement Portal team, this technical meeting gave police the opportunity to focus on their needs and propose future improvements and features that could be helpful in their daily work.

The Steering Groups for rights holders and customs met earlier in the year.

Following a presentation on the new features and upcoming releases, the mobile version of the Portal was discussed at length. Participants underlined the usefulness of such a solution and proposed a few features that should be included.

After presenting the very positive feedback on the pilot on customs notifications of detentions via the Portal, it was proposed that police authorities also participate, this time to notify participating rights holders of any detentions using the suspicious case function of the Portal.

Further highlights included a discussion on the interesting case feature, the Virtual Training Centre (VTC), and the dashboard on detentions related to the Report Detentions (ex ACIST) function of the Portal.

The day wrapped up after a brainstorming session on the themes of the next Enforcement Portal Forum, to be held on 13 and 14 May 2020.
