EUIPO Strategic Plan 2020
The Strategic Plan 2020 builds on the achievements of the Office's first Strategic Plan (2015), and has as its vision the creation of a user-driven European Intellectual Property Network.
The Plan underwent two public consultations: the first consultation ran from 23 January to 23 February 2015, when the guiding principles and outline of the Strategic Plan were presented.
The second consultation was launched in the wake of the publication of Regulation (EU) 2015/2424 and ran from 2 February to 15 March 2016.
The European Commission was consulted on the Strategic Plan 2020, and it was also presented to the JURI committee of the European Parliament.
The Strategic Plan 2020 has three strategic goals: improve operational effectiveness; enhance access to the IP system and IP knowledge; and build network convergence with a global impact.
Six Lines of Action support the three strategic goals:
- Build a dynamic and knowledgeable organisation
- Increase transparency and accountability
- Foster an effective and secure digital environment
- Intensify network engagement
- Enhance quality-driven customer services
- Strengthen the Intellectual Property system
The Strategic Plan 2020 represents an evolution of work carried out in the Office over the past four years.
