Official Opening of the First Edition of the EUIPO Trade Mark and Design Education Programme
The official opening of the First Edition of the EUIPO Trade Mark and Design Education Programme (ETMD EP) took place on 3 September 2018, led by Christian Archambeau, Executive Director (Acting) of the EUIPO, along with Stefan Martin, Member of the EUIPO Boards of Appeal and ETMD EP Project Manager.
Mr Archambeau and Mr Martin welcomed this year’s 52 participants, both professional representatives and legal practitioners, from 20 different EU Member States, in a live streamed ceremony.
The ETMD EP is a new training programme for intellectual property practitioners. It is a practical programme, delivered by EUIPO staff, leading IP professionals and academics, and focuses on interaction between the EUIPO and IP practitioners in trade mark and design registration and prosecution.
A comprehensive curriculum of approximately 150 hours of tuition will guide participants through all aspects of European Union trade mark and Community design law and how the EUIPO applies the law in practice.
The course also covers proceedings before the Court of Justice of the European Union, and other selected IP issues.
