Brexit information hub

On 29 March 2017, the United Kingdom (UK) submitted notification of its intention to withdraw from the European Union.

If no other date is established by a ratified withdrawal agreement, or by the European Council, in agreement with the UK, the UK will become a third country, and Union law will cease to apply to the UK as from 30 March 2019 (the so-called “hard Brexit”).

To allow rights holders and representatives to prepare for such an eventuality and in the framework of Communication No 2/2019 of the Executive Director of the Office, the EUIPO has created an information hub on its website.

The information hub contains the relevant information on how the EUIPO intends to handle the circumstances under which the EUTM and RCD Regulations would cease to apply to the UK as from the withdrawal day.
