Alerts

To access the Alerts section, click on the 'Alerts' tab in the side menu of your User Area.

The alerts interface is split into two sections: Alert messages and Configuration.

 

Alert messages section

When an alert is triggered, the trigger date, type of alert (EUTM/RCD/.eu domain alert, Calendar) and alert message are displayed in a table in this section, from which new alerts can also be set.

 

Configuration section

In this section, you can create a new alert or edit/delete an existing one. Calendar alerts and EUTM/RCD/.eu domain alerts are displayed in separate tabs.

 
  • Types of alerts

    Two types of alert can be set: Calendar alerts and EUTM/RCD/.eu domain alerts.

    Calendar alert
    A Calendar alert is a basic alert that allows the user to set a reminder for a certain date.

    EUTM/RCD/.eu domain alerts
    There are two types of EUTM/RCD/.eu domain alerts, both of which can be triggered from our search engine eSearch plus.

    Monitor alert
    A monitor alert can be set to monitor specific events, such as:

    • change of status of a trade mark;
    • if the trade mark/design is due for renewal;
    • change of ownership/representative;
    • the closure of the opposition period;
    • an identical .eu domain registration.

    Watch alert
    This alert is based on the criteria chosen for an advanced search by a logged-on user, and will be triggered if another trade mark or design complies with those criteria.

  • Actions' tabs

    Below is a list of the 'actions' tabs available in the Alerts section and their functions. To activate them, tick the box at the left-hand side of the relevant entry in the list (in detail view).

    Create new alert
    This option is available in both the 'Alert messages' and 'Configuration' sections.

    Delete
    This option is available in both the 'Configuration' section and the 'Archive' tab of the 'Alert messages' section.

    How to delete an alert
    1. To delete an alert, click on the grey cross icon Delete icon at the right-hand side of the relevant entry(s). The system will ask whether you are sure you want to continue.
    2. Tick the box at the left-hand side of the relevant entry and click on the 'Delete' button above the table (multiple elements can be selected). A pop-up window will be displayed, allowing you to accept or cancel deletion. This option is not available for the inbox tab of the 'Alert messages' section.

    Archive

    There are two ways of archiving an alert:

    1. In the 'Inbox' tab, click on the grey cross icon at the left-hand side of the relevant entry. The system will ask you whether you are sure you want to continue.
    2. In the 'Inbox' tab, tick the box at the left-hand side of the relevant entry and then click on the 'Archive' button above the table (multiple elements can be selected). A pop-up window will be displayed, allowing you to accept or cancel the move to the 'Archive' tab.

    N.B.: Alerts in the Inbox are automatically archived after 30 days.

    Send to
    You can send a copy of the alert information to an email address of your choice (multiple selections are possible). To do so, tick the box at the left-hand side of the relevant entry, then click on the 'Send to' button and choose between the options 'My email' or 'Other email'.

    If you choose the option 'My email', the email address is pre-populated with the email address related to your User Area account.

    If you choose the option 'Other email', you will need to enter the recipient's email address in the corresponding field.

    A note can also be added in the 'Note' field.

     

    What actions available in the 'Configuration' section

    Turn on

    There are two ways of turning on EUTM/RCD/.eu domain alerts and Calendar alerts:

    Turn on an alert Turn off an alert Selection of multiple elements to turn on an alert
    1. Click on the grey button icon on the right-hand side of the relevant entry. The icon will turn green when the alert has been activated.
    2. Tick the box on the left-hand side of the relevant entry, then click on the ‘Turn on’ button (multiple elements can be selected). The icon will turn green when the alert has been activated.

    Turn off

    There are two ways of turning off EUTM/RCD/.eu domain alerts and Calendar alerts:

    1. Click on the green button icon at the right-hand side of the relevant entry. The icon will turn grey when the alert has been deactivated.
    2. Tick the box at the left-hand side of the relevant entry, then click on the 'Turn on' button. The icon will turn grey when the alert has been deactivated.

    Edit alert
    To edit an alert click on the grey pencil icon Pencil icon at the right-hand side of the relevant entry.

    EUTM/RCD/.eu domain alerts
    When you click on the pencil icon you will be re-directed to eSearch plus, where you can edit your alert.

    Calendar alert
    When you click on the pencil icon, a pop up window will appear, where you can edit the details and then set the alert again.

  • Setting a Calendar alert

    Calendar alerts are set from the 'Alerts' section in the User Area.

    Create new alert
    1. Click on the 'Create new alert' button.
    2. Choose the option 'Calendar'. A pop up window will open.
    3. Click on the 'Trigger date' field, a calendar is then displayed; enter the trigger date.
    4. Enter an alert message.
    5. Select the tickbox if you want to receive the alert by email as well.
    6. Click on the 'Set alert' button.
  • Setting an EUTM/RCD/.eu domain alert

    Watch alert
    Watch alerts can be set from the Alerts section in the User Area by clicking on ‘EUTM/RCD/.eu domain alert' or directly from eSearch plus.

    Setting a watch alert
    1. Click on the 'Create new alert button'.
    2. 2. Choose the option ‘EUTM/RCD/.eu domain alert. A pop-up window will open.
    3. Choose 'Accept'.
    4. The advanced search funcionality of eSearch plus will open.
    5. Select your required criteria from the advanced search options and click on the 'Search' button.
    6. Click on the megaphone icon Alert icon displayed at the top left-hand side of the table. A pop up window will open.
    7. Name your alert using one of the options below:
      • choose the name of an existing alert created previously via the drop-down menu;
      • create a new name by entering the name in the text field.
    8. Tick the box 'Receive alert by email' if you want to a copy of the alert to be sent to your email address.
    9. Click on the 'Set alert' button.

    A notice will appear at the bottom of the pop-up window when the alert has been successfully created.

     

    Monitor alert
    Monitor alerts are set from the trade mark or design detailed view section of eSearch after a basic or advanced search has been performed.

    Setting a watch alert
    1. Click on the 'Set alert' button at the top right-hand side of the detail view. A pop up window will open, where you can tick boxes to determine which status changes to the EUTM or RCD you want to monitor.
      For the .eu domain alert, select the checkbox ‘Similar .eu domain registrations’.
    2. Name your alert using one of the options below:
      • choose the name of an existing alert created previously via the drop-down menu;
      • create a new name by entering the name in the text field.
    3. Tick the box 'Receive alert by email' if you want a copy of the alert to be sent to your email address.
    4. Click on the 'Set alert' button.
