New enforcement authorities join the Portal
08 November 2019
Since the launch of the Enforcement Database (EDB) in July 2013, EU enforcement authorities have been gradually joining the tool.
Since the launch of the Enforcement Database (EDB) in July 2013, EU enforcement authorities have been gradually joining the tool. All EU Member State customs’ authorities, Europol and OLAF were already users of the tool by the launch of the IP Enforcement Portal in 2019. The police community is also growing, with more than 30 police and Internal market authorities now using the tool as an aid in their fight against counterfeit and pirated goods.
Today, we are pleased to announce that two more enforcement authorities have joined the enforcement community of the IP Enforcement Portal. These are:
Food Standards Scotland and Scotland Trading Standards
The Portal is configured with default sharing criteria. Therefore, Portal rights holders/users are kindly reminded that enforcers belonging to these authorities can see information such as contacts, the IPR portfolio and additional web pages, but cannot see a product’s details (if this information has not been made available to a particular enforcement authority). Rights holders/Users can change this configuration using the sharing criteria functionality.
Request an enforcer account
Access to the Portal as an enforcer is given to enforcement authorities from all EU Member States. To request an account, enforcers should send an email to: ipenforcementportal@euipo.europa.eu
