Introduction
In the European Union, unitary trademarks valid throughout the EU
have been established through the EU Trademark Regulation (EUTMR), which
has its own jurisdictional regime. The EUTMR does not establish a
separate court system, but for infringement actions it grants
international jurisdiction to certain specified courts, the EU trade
mark courts, which are national courts functioning as EU courts in the
adjudication of disputes involving unitary EU trademark rights.
In
this webinar, an overview and evaluation will be given of the
establishment, the (international) jurisdiction and the procedure to
follow before these courts in disputes concerning the validity and
infringement of EU trade marks.
