  • In the first part of this webinar, changes in the structure of the Locarno classification with the addition of 19 new subclasses will be introduced. In the second part, the rule of "unity of class" for the designs in a multiple design application will be explained. Several designs can be combined in a multiple application and such filings are more economical compared to filing the same number of designs individually in separate applications. The possibility of filing in a multiple is subject to the condition that all the designs are classified in the same Locarno class. As an exception to this rule designs for ornamentation, logos, graphic symbols and surface patterns can be combined in the same application with designs of another class.
