The rights holders who are facing the problem of counterfeiting of their products may ask for customs border measures. The proper way of doing so is submitting a request to customs authorities using the form provided by the legislation – the form called Application for Action.
Understanding the purpose of the form, the data set required and the reason behind it will help the rights holders to prepare required data and to submit the Application for Action and thus facilitate customs in targeting suspected shipments and detecting suspected counterfeit products.
The form itself and the data set requested may seem to be too complicated and cumbersome, especially to the small and medium sized enterprises, but also to rights holders with the broad portfolio of products in different industry sectors. However, after watching this webinar, the rights holders will understand that the Application for Action is a very useful tool in the fight against counterfeiting and will be able to exploit it in the best possible way.
