  Analysis of the protectability as trade marks of titles, works or their main characters, why is this an issue? The overview of the EU approach including legal framework, EUIPO guidelines and the most relevant case law is followed by an insight in the national approach in some of the EU Member States and comparison with the US system. Finally tips for copyright owners are provided.
