  The presentation provides an overview, through practical examples, of the capacity of sounds to be registered as trade marks and of the requirement for graphical representation, including an insight on the changes resulting from the new EUTMR. Other absolute grounds for refusal such as lack of distinctiveness, public order and functionality are also analysed.
